Wicked was WICKED!!

So.....Wicked is officially my favorite Broadway show.

I went to the show in Charlotte today with my mom!  It was SO good!

I loved everything about it! The music, the costumes...the story!

It really brings me back to my days on the stage in my Chorus's spring shows.  I was never lead character, but that didn't matter at all.  It was the thrill of the stage and the lights and music!

I wish I had a better picture of my dress..but mom takes bad pictures and the one we took together was too dark thanks to the self-timer and the light behind us.

I thought this was appropriate...I WAS going to the Emerald City!

My Beautiful Mom!

The day was PERFECT!  Our seats were wonderful!
We were 16 rows from the stage on the orchestra level.  Great seats!

Then we went to dinner at the yummy Bonefish Grill.

Then we went shooooopping!  I got a super cute green (must be a trend...haha) shirt dress that is going to look amazing with my slate grey heels.

I also bought  my first romper ( or what my dad called a onesie for grown-ups).  Haha.  Its precious! I never thought I could look cute in one...but I did! So I bought it!

Quicky Exfoliating Facial

My dear aunt sent me a little recipe for a facial exfoliator.  She says that it is the best exfoliator that she has ever used!  She saw it on the Dr. Oz show the other day. She said that her face has never felt better!

I'm going to give it a shot!  Who's with me?

Quicky Exfoliating Facial

Take 1 packet of BC powders or Goodies powders or 6-12 crushed aspirin ( not coated)
Add 1/2 tsp of lemon juice or just enough to make a paste
Mix it up.
Then  gently rub the paste over your entire face and leave on until it dries ( approx 10 minutes).
Once dry,  take another small bowl and add 1 tsp of baking soda and 1/2 cup of water .
Use this to rinse your face
Then rinse clear with plain water.

Then get on here and tell me how your face feel!

I'll update this post once I've done this myself!

UPDATE:

My face has never felt smooth!  It tingles a little as your putting it on but once it drys it stops.  Once you put the baking soda water on it, it fizzes and then your face feels like a baby's butt!

Wicked!

Something has changed within me

Something is not the same

I'm through with playing by the rules

Of someone else's game

Too late for second-guessing

Too late to go back to sleep

It's time to trust my instincts

Close my eyes: and leap!

First off, I did not get the job that I was desperately hoping to get.

Tears and tears later...

Gooood NEWS !!

Mom announced that she got us tickets to see Wicked in Charlotte, NC on Saturday afternoon!

I've been wanting to see this show for about 2 years!  Too bad it's not Kristen Chenoweth and Idina Menzel, but close enough!!

I've got the most adorable green dress that I'm just DYING to wear! I'm SO excited!!!

It's amazing how one Broadway show can change a mood!

How did I accumulate so much $#!!+ ?

I finally unpacked from college.  It was a horrendous task that took 3 days to complete.
And for 3 days my room was completely like a landmine field.

I have yet to tackle reorganizing my closet, which I'm leaving for another day!

I had 3 large trashbags full of clothes that I'm going to give to Goodwill ( for  that 1st tax-write off once I get a job) and 4 trashbags full of ...well...trash.

My room still needs a TON of work though, i still have lots of knick-knacks that I've accumulated over the years that aren't appropriate for a 'college graduate" room.  Again....another day!

I also need to go on a major shopping spree to buy clothes ( when I get that 1st big girl paycheck...from the big girl job...that I haven't gotten yet).  I never realized that half my wardrobe is t-shirts. I also just threw away clothes that I never wear anymore.  It's still cute, but just not me anymore!

I had fun pulling stuff out of my drawers from years ago and wondering why the hell I would walk out in public in that.  I seriously pulled out a skirt that probably wouldn't even cover up my girly parts now.  What was I thinking!?  And for the tops? Holy moly,  my boobs bust out of half of them now.

I think its time for a new wardrobe.

I'd rather...

I'd rather have my fingernails pulled off  than do thank you cards.

I am so ADD when it comes to stuff like that.

I always mess up and have to end up trashing a whole stack of cards (which draws the process out even longer because I have to rewrite everything). It's definitely time to invest in some erasable pens.  Haha.

I also just don't know what to say other than "Thank you for (blank). I really appreciate it. I hope to see you soon. Blah Blah Blah."

I got lots of money for graduation, so I don't want to be like "Thanks for the money, I'm going to spend it on scrubs or its going to sit in a savings account".

I also don't want to just say two sentences and then sign " Love, Megan"

Here's what I have so far

Thank you so much for your generous gift in recognition of my graduation from the University of South Carolina, it is much appreciated! I also want to thank you for your love and encouragement through the years, it has meant so much to me. I hope all is well your way, Take Care and God Bless!
                                                                            -Megan

Then for gifts I'll tweak it a little.

I just feel so generic, especially to those people that I rarely see (or haven't seen in years).  It's not hard for people I see often, because then I can BS my way and fill card space (haha).

I need some suggestions!

Crispy.

I.am.burnt.to.a.crisp.

Well done.

Raw.

Thanks to 4 hours in the sun at the beach this weekend.

I felt fine up until I hopped in the shower.

Then got ready for the wedding and sat in the sun for another hour.

(The wedding was gorgeous by the way).

Then at the outside reception...I almost froze...literally....goosebumps.

We ended up leaving early from the reception because we were all sun sick and tired.

It was a wonderful weekend on the coast of NC though!

And just because he is cute....

It's summer and I'm studying?

It IS summer...and I AM studying.

For the biggest test of my life!

That is why I haven't blogged much this week.
My life right now consists of pharmocology and next week I will be knee deep in medical/surgical stuff.  Fun. Fun. Fun.

I'm headed to Oak Island, NC this weekend with Dave's family for a wedding.  I've never been to a  beach wedding.  Should be fun....and I have allowed myself 3 days of NO NCLEX studying.  I've done more than enough this week.

I'm taking my new camera with me so expect some beautiful photos when I come back!

Xoxo,
Megan
(I don't know what happened to my cute signature....hmmm)

Doggy Photo shoot

My dog Max is my heart and soul.
He is the sweetest most loving dog in the whole world.
I can't even describle my love for this dog.
He truly is a 'clearance dog', my mom and brother came home from a garage sale with him.
He has more than one name.  He responds to all of them.
PD for Perfect Dog
PD has us calling him Petey.
And then sometimes my dad calls him Short.  Because of his abnormally short tail.
Our other dog Molly is sometimes called Long....because her tail is long.

I wonder what I'm going to name my kids in the future. Hahaa

ANYWAYS!

Here are some shots I got of Max/PD/Petey/Short today.  He was SUCH a good little model!

He is at the foot of my bed right this very minute!

Happy Mother's Day!

My mom is an amazing women.

She was born Kathy Lynn in western Maryland as the second child of three.

She is still best friends with her 5 best friends from high school..which is rare these days.

She graduated from college with a degree in teaching and then got her master's in Special Education has been teaching Special Education since 1984.  She now teaches Special Ed. at an elementary school.  You have to be a special kind of person to do that....and no that is not a joke....you have to have a special heart to do a job like that every single day.  I don't know how she does it.

She met my dad in 1983 and got married to him in 1985 in the very church that I was baptized in as a baby and still attend today.

I am her first born...and only daughter.

I have her middle name.  Megan Lynn

She loves to exercise at the YMCA.  She can kick my butt in sculpt and sweat step classes.

She has a Maryland accent.

She loves working outside in the garden and yard.

She gave me scoliosis, she had to wear a back brace during her last 2 years of Jr. high and first 1.5 years of high school.  I know I wouldn't have done that.

She gets on my nerves and love to bug and question and nag,
but she also makes me laugh until I cry, can make me feel better with a kind word
is an inspiration to me every day.

I don't know what I'd do without her in my life!

I thank God every single day for her.

Happy Mothers Day Momma! I love you!

USC Alumni!

We hail thee, Carolina, and sing thy high praise

With loyal devotion, remembering the days

When proudly we sought thee, thy children to be:

Here's a health, Carolina, forever to thee!

I did it!

I'm officially a University of South Carolina Alumni!

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Class of 2010

The day was wonderful, even though one of my heels broke.
Thank God for some cute black FLIP FLOPS in my car, or I would have gone across stage barefoot.

I never thought I'd walk across stage in flipflops for my COLLEGE Graduation.  How Classy.
But I wasn't going to let a broken shoe ruin my day! At least I didn't have to worry about falling anymore!

My family and I went back to my hometown after graduation and ate at a lovely little restuarant downtown.  This restuarant has a huge ballroom in the back where they do many weddings.  I had my graduation dinner in the ballroom!! It was beautiful!!!  Hopefully I could have my wedding (no I'm not engaged).

Heres some pictures of my day!!

Me and by best friend Amanda. We've known each other since first grade!

My family!
My wonderful Daddy!

Cake numero dos!

I have a ton of pictures but for my time's sake, I'm not going to post more because I don't know which ones to choose from and b/c of my cameras awesomeness....it takes forever to download.

Congratulations to the Class of 2010!
